Night-time Routines Against Tooth Decay

Cleaning yourself before going to bed will give you a peaceful and sweet sleep. If you have not brushed your teeth before going to bed, you might wake up in the morning having an awful breath. Also, the germs and the bacteria will be working on your mouth during that night creating some cavities and destroying your teeth. Thus, before going to bed, you should ensure that you have done these bedtime oral care ideas.
Brush Your Teeth. Brushing your teeth is a must before going to bed if you do not want to wake up in the morning with an awful breath. Brushing the teeth does not only prevent the bad breath from occurring but it also prevents the plaque build up, gum diseases. Also, it prevents the teeth from decaying. When brushing the teeth, make sure that you do it in gentle strokes. Brush back and forth, including the outer surfaces of the teeth, the inner surfaces, and the chewing surfaces. With this method, you are ensured that every food particle and sugar particle is removed from your teeth.
If you want a more efficient way of cleaning your tooth, you can buy and use the electric toothbrush. This will cost you some dollars but it is a more effective method of removing the plaques from the teeth. When buying an electric toothbrush, you should choose one that is comfortable to hold and easy to use.
Floss. You should also floss your teeth aside from brushing them. By flossing your teeth, you are removing the food particles and the plaque that are inserted in between the teeth. If the food particles are not removed before you sleep, the bacteria will eat them and this can lead to the rapid increase of these destructive creatures. Also, by flossing the teeth, the soft plaque build ups are removed. If they are not removed immediately, they will harden and it will be difficult to remove them manually.
Flossing is mostly recommended to be done before going to bed. However, if you are very prone to gum diseases, or you have an easy build up of tartar, you should also floss your teeth in the morning before going to work or just after you brush your teeth.
Gargling With Mouthwash. Gargling or rinsing your mouth with a mouthwash is another oral care that you must do before going to bed. By doing this, you will surely wake up having a fresh breath in the morning. Also, your teeth will be free of plaque and cavities because of the mouthwash. Gum diseases and infections can be prevented as well by rinsing with a mouthwash. Aside from those, there are therapeutic mouth washes that contain fluoride and other special ingredients. These special ingredients can strengthen the teeth more so that they will not be decayed easily.
Wearing a Mouthguard. The mouthguard is designed for those who are grinding their teeth when they are asleep. The dentists can do nothing to stop you from grinding your teeth at night, but, they can make a mouthguard for you to wear at night so that your teeth will be protected even if you grind them together. Mouthguards cannot just be bought at any dental shop. You need to consult your dentist first so that the correct measurements will be known.
